In accordance with the Code of Virginia (§ 46.2-1095 et seq.), Albemarle Limousine and Travel Service, LLC (The Company) is committed to ensuring the safety of all passengers, including children. Pursuant to Virginia law and our internal safety standards, all children under the age of 8 must be properly secured in a child restraint device (car seat or booster seat) that complies with federal safety standards and is appropriate for the child’s age, weight, and height.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:

Parents or legal guardians are solely responsible for providing an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat for any child under their care who is riding in an Albemarle Limousine and Travel Service, LLC vehicle.

Specifically:

  1. Children under age 2 must ride in a rear-facing child safety seat unless they meet the minimum weight requirement for forward-facing use.

  2. Children under age 8 must be secured in a child safety seat or booster seat, regardless of height or weight.

  3. Child safety seats must be properly installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Company Rights and Responsibilities:

Albemarle Limousine and Travel Service, LLC reserves the right to refuse transportation to any child who is not properly secured in a compliant child safety seat or booster seat as required by Virginia law. This policy applies regardless of the nature or urgency of the service request.

Chauffeurs and staff are not permitted to provide or install child safety seats. Our insurance and liability policies do not cover improper or unauthorized use of child restraint systems.

Refusal of Service:

In any instance where a parent or guardian fails to bring a legally compliant safety seat or booster, the chauffeur or dispatch team may refuse to transport the child and/or terminate the reservation without refund to ensure the safety of the child and legal compliance.
